Basanti found a home in June 2017 in beautiful San Juan Capistrano, but it was actually born in my mind since 2007.
I always wanted to open a neighborhood restaurant that served delicious Indian cuisine with excellent customer service. Having been brought up in a household where my father rushed home from work every day to try new recipes for us, and spent weekends treating extended families to his delicacies, I yearned to create an establishment that served delicious cuisine whilst making guests feel welcome.
Basanti, a decade in the making, is my tribute to my father for instilling in me the love of food and the joy it brings to share it with others.
