I came to the US from Peru at the age of 17. I started washing dishes in a Mexican restaurant in San Francisco, I knew by then I wanted to be a chef. I worked 2 years in San Francisco before moving to LA where I worked for 6 yrs in various hotels and restaurants in Pacific Palisades, Santa Monica and Beverly Hills. I held many positions in the restaurant business. I graduated from the LA Culinary Institute in 1993 under certified Master Chef Raymond Hoffmaister. I’ve competed in several professional culinary competitions. I won a gold medal from the Chefs De Cuisine Association of California (CCAC), and also a gold medal from the American Culinary Federation. I moved to Orange County and opened my own restaurant, The Peruvian Grill, with great reviews from the LA Times and local newspapers.I will bring you the best quality of local fresh ingredients from farms and fish markets, work within your budget to develop menus and party ideas and I have many resources in the Orange County area.
