Truly an iconic “grand dame” since its opening in 1947, the Laguna Beach-based Royal Hawaiian Fire Grill recently enjoyed a 2019 renovation (she prefers we call it her “spa day”) with her new Owners, internationally renowned chefs, Chef Martin Molteni and Chef Mariano (Maro) Molteni.
We took the time-honored tradition of hospitality and Laguna-lovin’ history and brought it all into the 21st century with classic Polynesian looks, sleeker lines and … yes … every single tiki/totem still here and participating even more in your dining experience (You’ll see when you get here).
We’ve kept all the warmth and “take-your-island-time” vibe and updated everything else. We started with the most important element – reintroducing the famed wood-fired grill in a nod to the original “Royal Hawaiian Grill” of the 1960s and 1970s. Then we added in mind-blowingly great cocktails (ushered in by the return of the original Lapu Lapu recipe). And then we introduced a decadent culinary menu that marries historical Polynesian and global coastal fare through succulent wood-grill cooking of organic meats, fresh-caught fish, local seafood and more.
